Introduce the project—not the manuscript.
CHP primarily develops projects by invitation, but we occasionally begin conversations with authors whose work strongly aligns with our interests.
Please do not send or upload a complete manuscript.
What to include
A useful introduction is concise enough to review efficiently and specific enough to show us the work, its audience, and your goals.
The project
A one-sentence hook and a 250–400 word overview of the proposed book.
Audience and goals
The intended readers, useful comparable titles, and what you want the book to accomplish.
Fit and status
Why CHP may be a good fit, the project’s current status, and its estimated final word count.
Author and sample
A brief biography, relevant links, and no more than 3,000 words pasted into the form.
Fiction: include a brief synopsis that reveals the ending. Nonfiction: include a concise chapter outline.
What to expect
A submission does not guarantee review, response, representation, or publication. CHP generally contacts only authors whose projects we wish to explore further.
